GUIDE / STRAIGHT ANSWER
Why is my business not showing on Google Maps?
Not existing publicly, not appearing for a service search and not ranking nearby are different problems. Diagnose the right one before changing the listing.
The short answer
Check whether the profile exists, is eligible and verified, has accurate information and has any visible restriction or review notice. Then distinguish a branded lookup from an unbranded service search. A profile can exist on Maps without appearing prominently for every local query.
What to check first
Use these checks to identify the problem before buying work or changing the setup.
- ✓Find the profile by the real name and town
- ✓Confirm the owner and verification status
- ✓Inspect notices and recent changes
- ✓Record the exact service search and searcher location
Separate absence from low visibility
Search for the real business name and city. If a public profile exists, the next question is whether it appears for the relevant service under defined search conditions. Rewriting the business name to include extra keywords is not a safe shortcut.
Check the profile account
Use the owner’s account to inspect verification and any notification about edits or restrictions. Do not create another listing because the first one seems missing. Resolve ownership and eligibility before attempting broader optimisation.
Handle a restriction through the right process
If the account shows a suspension or disabled-profile notice, inspect the stated issue and the current Google support process. Do not invent an address or submit inconsistent business details. Keep evidence of the real business ready where requested.
When the profile exists but service searches are weak
Check category fit, service information, location and the connected website. Use a consistent set of queries and locations to compare visibility. One result from your own phone cannot prove that nobody else can find the business.
Apply this to your business
Tell Graeme what you sell, where customers are and where the journey breaks. The next step is a scoped conversation about local seo and google maps support, not an automatic package of unrelated services.

Short, honest answers.
Should I make a new profile?+
Not as a default fix. A duplicate can create further problems. Establish what happened to the existing eligible profile first.
Can you guarantee reinstatement or a top position?+
No. Eligibility decisions and rankings belong to Google. The work is to correct genuine issues and follow the applicable process.
